1962 May 10 - Resolution 87 from City Council to form Local Improvement District 62-SS-1

1962 May 29 May - 40 year agreement with Southwest Suburban Sewer District signed

1960s - Normandy Park's sewers built

2002 - Normandy Park pays off all bonds, leaving sewer utility debt-free

2003 Jan 1 - City transfers sewer utility to SWSSD

2003 Feb - 23 signatures presented to SWSSD on request to consider annexation

2003 May - SWSSD Commissioners authorize $3000 to prepare annexation petition

2003 June - King County Elections estimates 329 signatures will be required (but counted registered voters, not ballots cast)

2003 Jul 1 - Commissioners authorized CHS Engineers to submit completed legal description of the area to be annexed to the county for preliminary approval as to form

2003 5 Aug - Petition authorized at Sewer Commissioners' meeting subject to attorney concurrence

2003 Aug - King County Elections estimates 283 signatures will be required but neglected to eliminate Manhattan and Bonniewood which are already annexed

2003 Aug 12 - SWSSD Attorney concurrence granted; petitions delivered; signature gathering began

2003 Aug 12 - Normandy Park City Council passed Resolution 756 supporting the annexation drive

2003 Aug 29 - King County elections estimates that 196 validated signatures will suffice.

2003 Sep 14 - Last of 294 signatures gathered

2003 Sep 16 - Signatures presented to SWSSD General Manager

2003 Oct 7 - SWSSD Commissioners unanimously passed Resolution 2003-20 accepting the petitions

2003 Oct 16 - King Conty Election's office validates signatures

2003 Dec 31 - CHS Engineers completes draft of Normandy Park Addendum to the Sewer District Comprehensive Plan

2004 Jan 2 - SEPA Review notice published

2004 Jan 16 - SEPA Review period ends; comments received from Midway Sewer District, City of Normandy Park, and private citizen, George Hadley

2004 Jan 20 - Discussion of Comprehensive Plan at Commissioners' Meeting; no resolution

2004 Mar 2 - Boundary Review Board (BRB) data package approved by the SWSSD Board of Commissioners by Resolution 2004-11

2004 Mar 9 - King County Boundary Review Board accepts data package from CHS Engineers

2004 Mar 15 - BRB publishes (draft) summary and assigns File Number 2167 to Request for Annexation

2004 Mar 22 - BRB publishes final summary of File No. 2167
Note: This summary states that there are three purposes for the annexation which is not really true: whether or not annexation occurs will not affect rates or service; this annexation is about the right to vote and the right to run for sewer commissioner.

2004 Apr 8 - Boundary Review Board Meeting at which proposal was submitted to the BRB

2004 Apr 22 - last day for anyone to request a formal, public hearing on the proposal

2004 Apr 23 - Boundary Review Board approved petition

2004 Apr 26 - King County Council approved petition

2004 Jul 27 - King County Council Labor, Operations, and Technology Committee holds meeting to discuss (draft) Ordinance 2004-0337 setting the date for the election as 2 Nov 2004 and decalring an emergency.

2004 Aug 27 - King County Council passed and Executive signed legislation authorizing an election on November 2.
